Hi everyone, Antenna Guy here, I am the founder and author here on AntennaJunkies.com. I wanted to create this site for a couple of different reasons, one to provide helpful tips and tricks to those of you who are fed up paying over inflated cable bills and are new to free HDTV, and two, well two is because I thought it would be a lot of fun!
Full disclosure, I don’t profess to be an expert in radio and communications and I am not a 20 year antenna engineer that is going to provide you with a lot of highly technical information on radio and antenna waves. I’m just a regular guy that was fed up with paying the big cable companies boat-loads of money every month for a TV service that is available to everyone absolutely free.
What I can offer is over 10 years of being cable free, that’s right, I cut the cord over 10 years ago and haven’t looked back since! Over that time period technology has changed quite a bit and I’ve been on the leading edge of it, trialing, experimenting with a lot of the hardware and software in the market today.
My wife is convinced I have a bit of “nerd” in me, and AntennaJunkies.com brings together that “nerdiness” and all my knowledge of television antennas, streaming devices and software, including, and this is by no means an exhaustive list:
- Top models that I know work well
- Where to buy antennas, so you’re not ripped off
- How to boost the range of an antenna
- Positioning your antenna to get the maximum channels
I’ve spent countless hours configuring and re-configuring my television setups over the years, and hopefully you won’t have to by reading some of my articles and recommendations. You could say I’ve become an expert of sorts being able to watch and stream HDTV via my antenna and getting most of my favorite channels for free. It’s a great way to be “off the grid” as far as cable companies go…and I’m not going to lie, the extra cash every month in my pocket doesn’t hurt either.
I hope you enjoy reading the articles and reviews as much as I have enjoyed writing them and that you too will experience the freedom of “cutting that cord”…it’s a whole lot of fun!
All kidding aside, the bottom line is you don’t need a cable subscription to watch high quality HDTV on multiple devices in your home, that’s the fundamental message I impart here on AntennaJunkies.com.
